This app is an educational tool to practise multiple-choice questions for the UKMLA and PLAB 1 exams. It does not provide medical advice and is intended for exam preparation only.
1. Purpose of the App
The mobile application (“the App”) helps medical students and international medical graduates practise single best answer (SBA) MCQs mapped to the GMC UKMLA content. Features include subject practice, timed mock exams, scoring, and review explanations.
2. Information We Collect
We designed the App to minimise data collection. We do not require an account or collect personal identifiers (name, email, phone) or health data.
2.1 Automatically Collected Data
- Device identifiers (e.g., Apple IDFA/SKAdNetwork token) — only if you grant permission via Apple’s App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt.
- Crash logs & performance metrics — anonymised diagnostics from Apple/Supabase to maintain stability.
- Advertising identifiers — if you consent to personalised ads via Google AdMob / UMP.
2.2 Local (On-Device) Data
Your quiz progress, chosen answers, mock results, and credit balance are stored locally on your device. We do not upload this information or share it with third parties.
3. How We Use Information
- Deliver question content and explanations.
- Maintain performance, stability, and security.
- (With consent) Display privacy-compliant ads.
- Improve future versions of the App.
We do not sell, rent, or share your information for marketing purposes.
4. Third-Party Services
| Provider | Purpose | Data handled | Privacy Policy |
|---|---|---|---|
| Supabase Inc. | Backend database + API | Question content, anonymised usage logs | supabase.com/privacy |
| Google AdMob & UMP | Optional ad display and user consent | Advertising identifiers (if consented) | policies.google.com/privacy |
| Apple (App Store / SKAdNetwork) | Distribution & non-personalised attribution | Aggregated install and engagement data | apple.com/legal/privacy |
5. Consent & App Tracking Transparency (ATT)
On first launch, the App may request permission to track activity across other companies’ apps and websites for personalised ads. If you allow, you may see more relevant ads. If you decline, you will receive non-personalised ads. You can change this later under iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
6. Children’s Privacy
The App is intended for users aged 16+. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided data to us, please contact us to request deletion.
7. Data Retention
- Local results and credits remain on your device until you uninstall the App.
- We do not store your personal data on our servers.
- Supabase retains anonymised server logs for up to 30 days for diagnostics.
8. Security
All communication with Supabase uses HTTPS/TLS. Data on Supabase is encrypted in transit and at rest. We do not transmit sensitive personal or health data.
9. Your Rights
Under UK GDPR and the UK Data Protection Act 2018 you may have rights to access, correct, or erase your data. Because our App does not collect personal identifiers, these rights generally do not apply. You can still contact us with any questions.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect new features or legal requirements. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. The latest version will always be available at this URL.
